What is unique about Georgetown that drew you to the University?
There are many unique things about Georgetown; in fact, I learn something
new about the University everyday. Georgetown has one of the most
beautiful campuses and great school spirit. Every student I know
loves it here and will let you know in the first couple minutes
that you talk to them. I think that says a lot about the
University. Everyone in NHS wants you to succeed and they are willing
to help you in any way they can.
Describe your academic experience.
Georgetown is definitely academically challenging. My hardest class
this semester is Pathophysiology.
After the first day of class I was a little intimidated and nervous
so I e-mailed the professor who gave me the name of a tutor on
campus. At first, I wasn't sure how successful the tutor was going
to be, but my expectations were far exceeded. Even though Georgetown
is academically challenging, it is very possible to succeed. In
fact, there are so many resources to take advantage of on campus
that in order to do well academically I only have to worry about
working my hardest.
How has living in DC affected your college experience?
My college friends at other universities do not have near the experience
of what I have. DC is a great college city– there is so
much to do and it is right at your fingertips. DC has great museums,
monuments, clubs, restaurants, shopping, the list could go on.
Another great thing is that you have other neighboring Universities
in the area. As a result, you are constantly meeting new people
from other schools. I also am involved with the Naval
Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) at Georgetown, which
is a different lifestyle in itself. Furthermore, as a nursing student,
there are so many health care facilities in the DC-metro area that
we work with. This gives us so many opportunities to study in different
clinical settings. Georgetown is a great University with a lot
to offer its students academically, socially, and spiritually.
