NHS Student Wins GU Sigma Xi Award
Stephanie Zare (NHS'09), an honors human science major at NHS,
recently won the Sigma Xi presentation award, which is given to
recognize excellent oral research presentations in science.
Georgetown students, representing the Departments of Human Science and
Biology, competed to win the award, given by the university's chapter
of Sigma Xi.
Zare presented on, "Navicular Drop Not Static Arch Height Is A Better
Predictor of Stress Fracture Risk in Male Athletes."
Sigma Xi is an international, multidisciplinary research society whose
programs and activities promote the health of the scientific
enterprise and honor scientific achievement.
More than 500 Sigma Xi chapters can be found at colleges and
universities, industrial research centers, and government
laboratories.
Zare, pictured at right, also recently won best oral presentation at
the university's 2009 Undergraduate Research Conference.
In the fall, she will enroll at the University of Michigan Medical School.
