Direct Entry to Advanced Practice Nursing Program

The Direct Entry to Advanced Practice Nursing Program allows individuals with a Bachelor's degree in another field, who wish to enter nursing and ultimately have an advanced practice role in mind, to pursue both an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in a nursing specialty.

  • Combines our 16-month Accelerated Second Degree BSN Program with one of our graduate-level specialties for a streamlined path to advanced practice nursing

After completing the Accelerated Second Degree BSN Program, Direct Entry students will pursue a graduate degree in one of the specialty areas listed below:

Admissions Information

All Direct Entry applicants must simultaneously apply to both the Graduate School and the Accelerated Second Degree BSN ProgramBOTH applications are due by the Accelerated Second Degree BSN application deadline found on the admissions calendar.

Applicants to the Direct Entry to Advanced Practice Nursing Program will complete 3 total recommendations submitted as part of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences application. The Accelerated Second Degree BSN Program application will prompt you to identify yourself as a Direct Entry applicant and will adjust requirements accordingly.

In addition to meeting all of the requirements of the Accelerated Second Degree BSN Program, Direct Entry applicants must also meet the following requirements:

  • Cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
  • Scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
