Accelerated Second Degree BSN Admissions Information

Although each applicant is considered on an individual basis, the following criteria are required for admission to the Accelerated Second Degree BSN Program (Direct Entry applicants please see additional requirements for the Direct Entry Program).

Required Criteria

  • Baccalaureate degree from a US Department of Education accredited college or university.
    • Official transcripts from ALL colleges/universities attended required.
    • If you received your degree from a foreign institution, it must be evaluated by World Education Services (http://www.wes.org/). Official transcripts plus an official WES evaluation must be included.
  • All candidates whose native language is not English are required to take the TOEFL exam. Please see the FAQ page for minimum score details.
  • Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  •  Plan for successful completion of  11 prerequisite courses.

Application

  • ONLINE APPLICATION materials
    • 2 Recommendations: 1 academic and 1 professional.
    • Resume/CV.
    • Statement of Purpose.
  • Transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended.
  • Interview is required (by invitation only to selected applicants).
  • Optional GRE test. Please see the FAQ page for optional GRE details.
  • Plan for successful completion of 11 prerequisite courses (link to NEW prerequisite course page).


Accelerated Second Degree BSN Admissions Calendar

Admission to the Accelerated Second Degree BSN program occurs in both the Spring and Fall semesters.

Spring Entry (classes begin in January)

August 1: ONLINE application deadline.
August 8: Release of Georgetown Scholars at Washington Hospital Center application by e-mail.
September 1:
Financial Aid forms due to the Office of Financial Services.
September: On campus interviews conducted (by invitation only).
October 1:
Accelerated Second Degree BSN decisions issued.
October 6: Georgetown Scholars at Washington Hospital Center ONLINE application deadline.
November 1: Approximate reply deadline for accepted Spring applicants. Please read acceptance letter.

Fall Entry (classes begin at the end of August)

February 1: ONLINE application deadline.
March: On campus interviews conducted (by invitation only).
April 1: Fall Accelerated Second Degree BSN decisions issued.
April 6: Georgetown Scholars at Washington Hospital Center ONLINE application deadline.
May 1: Financial Aid forms due to the Office of Financial Services.
May 1: Approximate reply deadline for accepted Fall applicants. Please read acceptance letter.
