Post-Masters Nursing Program Admissions Information

Prior to compiling the documents listed below, contact Michelle Blancas in the office of Admissions and Outreach at (202) 687-2252, or mdb64@georgetown.edu.

  • Print and complete the School of Nursing and Health Studies registration form to register for Fall, Spring, or Summer classes. 
  • When you have contacted Admissions and Outreach and selected a Post-Masters track (Nurse-Midwifery/Women's Health, Family Nurse Practitioner, Acute & Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner) you will be directed to the appropriate Program Director to determine your academic plan.
  • Obtain final official transcripts from your undergraduate institution(s) and a final transcript showing your completion of a Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Submit three official letters of recommendation in sealed, signed envelopes.
  • Submit a professional statement of purpose, expressing your interest in the program and how the program coincides with your professional goals.
  • Submit your resume or curriculum vitae.
  • Submit a copy of your active Registered Nurse license.
  • Submit a TOEFL score of 550 (for non-native English speakers).
  • Submit application fee of $65, payable to Georgetown University NHS.
  • Please indicate the concentration for which you are applying. Contact the appropriate Program Director with questions about course/preceptor requirements.

NOTE: Students who successfully complete the Post-Masters option are eligible to sit for the national certifying exam in their specialty area.

After speaking with the office of Admissions and Outreach and the appropriate Program Director, send all documentation to:
